Watermelon Detox Juice
The heat is on and it’s time to up the anti on the most hydrating, thirst quenching juices to keep us cool!
My go to fruit of Summer has got to be watermelon and it certainly lives up to its name, being about 92% water! Bursting with vitamins, lycopene and amino acids, watermelon promotes a strong immune system as well as healthy skin! Plus if you’re trying to get in shape this Summer, watermelon is low calorie due to its high water content and will help you feel full between meals.
Deliciously refreshing it makes the perfect juice – why not add a twist and enjoy the sweetness of watermelon with the detox powers of super greens!
Cucumber is another incredibly hydrating ingredient with the added benefit of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. Spinach is a renowned superfood – the dark green leaves are packed with fibre and nutrients that strengthen the skin, hair and bones and protect us against heart disease and cancer.
So keep your cool this Summer with this healthy, delicious juice:
2 cups watermelon
1 cup spinach
5 mint leaves
Juice in a juicer and serve immediately (preferably over ice!)
If you don’t have a juicer, use a blender and just add water.
